| Scrum at Bang & Olufsen |
|
Bang & Olufsen - the famous Danish producer of fine entertainment systems - is very actively using Scrum and Agile principles in product development.
For a couple of years the innovative company B&O have used Scrum and other agile methods in bringing products to market quickly and reliably. B&O have been facing the challenge of managing more and more software content in its products - along side the traditional disciplines of mechanics and electronics. The answer to this challenge has been to use Scrum to improve the resillience against changing specification and and technology and at the same time improve the visibility into the projects. Introducing Scrum and transforming a company to become truly Agile is exciting and rewarding, but it is also a road of "blood, sweat and tears", once on the road there should be "no retreat, no surrender". People in Western Jutland, where B&O is based, are known for their persistence. This also shows at B&O. |
