APC - American Power Converter - is a well known brand producing equipment for the IT server room, rack, power supplies, battery backup etc. The branch located in Kolding in Denmark is using Scrum and Agile principles as integral parts of their whole product development Strategy.

For a couple of years we at Scrummaster.dk have worked with APC, training, coaching and generally supporting their process of development.

APC have as so many companies been under pressure to get high quality products to the market quickly. The products consist of mechanical components, electronic components and more and more software content.

Scrum has provided APC with a common language to handle release managements, specifications, tasks and feed back to management. The challenge has been to increase performance without stressing staff and at the same time improve the visibility into the projects.

On February 2nd and 3rd 2009, we ran an internal class at APC where another Batch of Scrum Masters were certified, we will follow up in the near future with an introduction day for the teams starting a new quest for excellence.
